next, we'll discuss some of the main components you can find on an altar – keeping in mind that altars are deeply personal to individuals & communities & will likely evolve over time

kearstin bailey

hi! i'm kearstin, a queer pastor, mystic, & all-around cosmic hottie ✨

throughout my life, creating, curating, nurturing, & praying at home altars has transformed how i connect with the divine. i've built tiny altars in hotel rooms during travel & large-scale altars when i'm more settled in a place

home altars help us connect with the unseen realm that is around & among us all the time; assist us to focus our attention on worship, grounding exercises, & prayer; & soothe us so that we might enter the wider world with a greater sense of comfort, love, & discernment about what the sacred is calling us to in our lives.

wanna dive into the world of home altars with me, new friend?

After this

deep traditions

you'll have a clear idea of how home altars were used in the past & how they can connect us to our ancestors in faith (or those of no particular faith!)

increased failure tolerance

is every configuration of your home altar going to work out? probably not. & that's okay! this workshop will get you confident with trying new things & adjusting as you go

meaningful ritual

just seeing your home altar on a daily basis can encourage you to practice breathwork, verbalize gratitude, actively pray, and notice the movement of the spirit in the world in more consistent ways

in the ancient mediterranean, every part of the world was thought to be touched by the divine. RELIGIOUS behavior & devotion were embedded in daily life

home altars today can help us engage in a reciprocal relationship with the divine in a more intentional way

cultivating a home altar practice is one way to tend to a long-term relationship with the sacred, a continual engagement that stretches over a lifetime

connect with spirit in ways that feel supportive & life-affirming for you :)
